Notice

Cookie policy

Effective November 2, 2026. This notice explains storage used by https://lonstar.cfd/.

What this policy covers

lonstar uses a short notice at the bottom of each page so you can decide whether we remember that choice in your browser. This policy describes that control, what it is not, and how fonts are loaded. It should be read with the privacy policy. Questions can be sent to [email protected] or mailed to lonstar, 450 Lexington Avenue, Suite 1840, New York, NY 10017, United States. The phone number is +1 (212) 555-0148.

The preference we store

The site script, build/bundle.js, reads and writes one localStorage key named cookie_notification. If you press Accept all, the value accepted is stored. If you press Reject, the value denied is stored. On later visits the notice stays hidden when either value is present. The key does not contain your name, your email, or a history of the articles you opened. It is not attached to the newsletter form.

localStorage is not the same as an HTTP cookie. It stays on your device for this site, and the browser does not automatically send it to lonstar.cfd with each request. We still describe it in this cookie policy because it is the control behind the notice, and readers reasonably look here to find it. lonstar does not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies from the pages we publish.

What Accept all and Reject mean here

Both buttons close the notice and store the choice. Accept all does not turn on an ad network, because no ad network is waiting for the signal. Reject does not disable the articles. The guidebook remains readable either way. We offer both actions so the choice is explicit and so the stored value matches what you selected. If you never choose, the notice remains available on the next page view, and no cookie_notification value is written by that inaction.

Server logs are separate

The host may record IP address, time, and the URL requested in server logs. That is a hosting record, not the cookie_notification key. We describe it in the privacy policy. Clearing cookies in your browser will not delete server logs that were already written. It will remove ordinary cookies if any infrastructure in front of the site sets one for load balancing or security. lonstar does not use those records to retarget ads.

Fonts

Pages request DM Serif Display and Source Sans 3 from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address with that request. Blocking it does not block the articles. The browser falls back to a system font.

Newsletter form

The email field on selected articles posts to signup.php and returns a short JSON message. Submitting it does not set cookie_notification. The address you type is handled as described in the privacy policy. Do not confuse the notes list with the banner choice. You can accept or reject the notice and still decide separately whether to subscribe.

How to clear the preference

Use your browser’s site settings for lonstar.cfd and delete local storage, or clear site data. You can also remove cookies for the host if you want a full reset of anything the browser stored for this origin. After that, the notice will show again the next time the script runs. Browser vendors document the steps for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge in their own help pages. lonstar cannot clear storage that sits on a device we do not control.

Changes

If we add a cookie or another local key, we will revise this page and the effective date. The current text is the one posted at https://lonstar.cfd/cookies.php. Continued use after an update gives you the new notice. For the rules of reading and quoting the guidebook, see the terms of use.
